A fun filled Birthday day!

Vida's Two!

Woke up early to get ready for Vida's little birthday party still a little grumpy from the fight Ma and I had the night before. As I was driving there, there was a group of motorcycle riders who surrounded my car on Farmer's lane on my way out to the park. They were cool because they werent like your typical riders, they were more modern - my age. The party started at 10:30, but I got there at about 11 and spent a couple of hours hangin with the kids. They are all a lot of fun, Ailey and I caught tad-poles. She is very willful these days! I told her not to get her shoes dirty and she jumped right in the mud (lol I'm just happy she is ok with the dirt!)They BBQ'd hotdogs and stuff. Trevor and Ger looked good, and Vida had a great time, she is very curious and happy. Rylan was also in a happy mood, very content. Jessica and I sat on a blanked and took it all in - chatting about stuff. It was nice to see Trev's mom Terry too - got to catch up with her.

I left blasting my music - J Holiday at full volume. I had the sunroof open.

Emily's Birthday

Then I headed over to Emily's new place for her BDAY BBQ, they played volley ball for hours and Dylan was BBQing chicken.

A Sunny Day

This morning I woke up early, around 7. You could just tell it was going to be a lovely day, but my disposition was not a clear indication of this! A pot of coffee later, I donned my Cubanita Hat and a Seb-Town hoodie and Mom and I headed in to Forestville for a garage sale. I scored these 2 really old books and one of those pillar things for the wall to put stuff on. I do all I can to nest here in my mothers house.

It has been a helluva long time since I've written, I have as of last month moved from my beloved country home into my mother's big house to pay the expenses for her and my brother as she was recently let go from her job. As we know, economical times are tuff right now so it has been no cake-walk for her getting a new job. And anyways, she is getting older and I feel bad that she even has to work but the money is tight and I am a natural born shopper, so this plays a part of waking up moody on a Saturday for there will be no shopping for me.

With springtime in the air, the mood was right for a yummy breakfast - so after garage sailing we went to Willow Wood in Graton for breakfast and shared the Country Scramble and a delicious polenta dish. I continued sucking down cups of coffee in a effort to shake the mood. Subsequently, Camelia (sister) and Jason (her man) walked in! They took seats next to us and we began planning this summers trip to watch Camelia graduate with her masters from the college she attends in Vermont. It will be fun - we are considering Quebec or Washington D.C. from that point.

When I was younger, maybe 10, ya for my 10th birthday, my mom took my favorite cousin Victoria and I to Washington D.C. - It was a fulfilling trip, I remember feeling very happy that I got my mom and my cousin all to myself. We visited the Smithsonian and the Arlington and took the subway (for my first time) - the highlight was watching the fireworks for the 4th of July over the Washington Monument. Something I will never forget.

I woke up this morning from a dream of my Grandfather whom I miss desperately. It is amazing the attachments we have to people. With him gone, nothing feels quite as secure. He acted as a beacon, a rock; A direct path to understanding how and why I am. He was full of good thoughts, like his saying
"When you are sleeping you are not living"
My dream was about how we had hired a maid who was my age, and I was trying to get her fired because she was competing with me. We had to let someone go at work so I am sure this ties in some how.
I am now in front of my computer and my next step is to figure out what I am going to do with the rest of my day. I know I should be out gardening (check out my blog for gardening here: http://girlswholovedirt.blogspot.com/) but I feel very unattached to this garden and am having a hard time getting into cultivating the earth here.
My mind is all over the place.... I just want to do nothing and everything all at once.

Today is my Friday!!!

For once, I have a few days off from work. It will be the first time that I have taken vacation time since my trip to Miami in 2005. Scary.

I am excited about resting and being able to create my own schedule, but I also have a small black raincloud floating over my head. Frank was fired from work, and has not called to at least let me know that he is alive and okay. It is hard for me not to worry, but I know that it is not my place any longer, and point blank - its not healthy.

I know just the thing to make me feel better - watching my favorite Christmas movie of all time - The Muppets Christmas Carol. I am sure my blues are nothing that Kermit can't cure.
Laur and I are meeting this evening to check out the Spiritual Center - it will be my first time there - well since it was Star Skate. Wish me luck!

Dear Deer

Yesterday, while I was taking my lunch break - I was outside sitting on a tree trunk, smoking a cigarette, when all of a sudden I see a deer being hunted down by a [off-leash] dog. The dog attached the deer, and broke it's leg. The owner finally got the dog under control by tying his belt around the dog's neck and hauling it off.
The deer tried to stand up, but because it's leg was broken, it tumbled down the hill hitting her head on many rocks on the way down. Once it landed, I walked over and rested the deers head in my lap and tried to calm it by petting it and her heartrate started to slow down a bit.
We called animal control. They came over to where the deer was, and shot it. Thats it. End of story, no more deer.

Sister Day

Sister Day Oct 2007 002, originally uploaded by cameliagp.

My sisters and I spent a day at the ocean on Sunday. It was wonderful! We went to Candy and Kites, but realized that it wasnt the same as it was when I was a little kid, and that they barely had any candy!!! In search of the rock candy of my childhood, we set out on foot to another candy shop down the lane, and found what I was looking for.

We enjoyed lunch, and conversation ... it was really really nice. Then we headed down to the beach to mellow and watch the sunset.

My 2 sisters had some beef about not spending enough time together, but the ocean has a way of helping you work things out - and did. We have reinstated Sunday as "family day"... now only if we can talk Momz into it.

Class of 1997 High School Reunion

Toddy T + Jess, originally uploaded by fever79.

Our 10 year reunion just took place, it was awesome!

I love this picture - Jesse and Todd, 2 men who can make you laugh at the drop of a dime and are for the most part in a continuously light hearted mood. You would be lucky to find yourself in the company of fellas like these.

The party was hosted at the Brewery in Sebastopol. I got the chance to catch up with some peeps I haven't seen in a really long time - Most Beautiful? Adrie; Most Changed? Cotton; Most hilarious dance moves? Trinity for sure - You shake it girl!!! ; and Most enjoyable would have to be Brenda, she had such a good energy about her that night!

The DJ was horrible! Nobody even really hit the dance floor, but the company was good and that is what mattered.

Long Strange Day

What a long strange day it has been - the weather outside is super gloomy - the first signs of fall are here. The leaves are all turning from green to gold and red. From my office window, when it is foggy, it feels as though you are trapped inside of a pillow. Like, surrounded on all sides. Time seems to move a little quicker then it does when it is sunny, most likely because I am not DYING to go outside.

I just finished the new site design for 5th Street Fitness Gym in Santa Rosa and sent it for review.

Still without a car, Camelia is going to pick me up after work. I really need a car! She is trying to get me to go to the gym with her... No!!! Its a little much! I quit coffee on Monday, and now you want me to step it up another notch? ugg. One thing at a time please.
